Tell me about this workshop!
In this workshop you'll learn how to sew your first pair of pants from start to finish—the Florence Pant!
We'll walk through every step together: fitting the pattern to your body, cutting your fabric accurately, constructing the pants, and finishing them with a waistband and hems. Pants can feel intimidating, but I promise—with the right guidance and a great pattern, they're totally achievable.
This workshop is a great option if pants have always felt out of reach. The Florence Pant is a beautifully wearable, relaxed-fit staple that you'll reach for again and again, and once you've made one pair, you'll want to make ten more.
Since this is a beginner workshop, it does not cover adding inseam pockets.
*For a limited time only, purchases of this workshop will include our separate Inseam Pocket Mini-Course that includes a pocket pattern template and full video instructions on inserting inseam pockets professionally!
Who is this for?
This workshop is for anyone that wants to be able to sew a pair of well-fitting, simple pants with easy, straightforward instruction. Great for beginners, especially those that have been sewing for a bit but haven't had the courage to tackle pants yet.
If you've sewn a simple garment before (or taken our Georgia Tee workshop!), you're ready for this.
How does it work?
Immediately after you check-out, you'll receive an email with an invitation to our private Skool community. This will let you access your workshop. The brief video pinned to the main page once you log in will show you exactly where to find everything.
All workshop content is organized in one place, and you can download your patterns, watch the recorded classes, and download extra resources at your own pace (you'll have lifetime access).
Organized in chronological order so you can work through your project one step at a time, with everything you need and nothing you don't.
I host Live Office Hours inside Skool every other week, and you are encouraged to join in with questions and for hands-on help with your project.

What tools/equipment do I need to have?
- A sewing machine in good working order capable of a straight stitch and ideally a zig-zag stitch
- At least two new, sharp machine needles appropriate for your fabric (a Universal 80/12 is a great start)
- Fabric shears
- Pins and/or pattern weights
- Seam ripper (mistakes are part of the process!)
- Iron and ironing board (I highly recommend a sleeve board, and this can substitute a full-size ironing board as well)
What other supplies will I need?
- 2.5–3 yards of woven fabric (linen, cotton, or a medium-weight woven blend work well)
- All-purpose polyester thread
- Clear gridded ruler with 1/8" markings
- Tailors chalk or fabric marking pen
- Elastic for the waistband
- Printed copy of the Florence Pant Pattern (the digital pattern is included with the workshop, you can print at home or order a full-size printed copy)
- Links and recommendations for all the supplies you'll need are included inside the workshop!
